iTunes
For all iTunes actions you must first download to a folder on your PC and then add the file to your iTunes library. IE users will start by right clicking on the file above that you want and then select "Save Target As" and then select the folder on your PC that you want to save it to (but remember where you put it!) Firefox users will start by clicking on the file above that you want and then select "Save to Disk" and then OK. Select the folder on your PC that you want to save it to (but remember where you put it!) Now start iTunes and click "File", "Add File to Library". Navigate to the folder you didn't forget, select the file you downloaded and click "Open". The file is now part of your iTunes library.

  To Play
Navigate to the downloaded file in your library (will be last file if you just added it) click on it and click play.

  To put on your iPod
Connect your iPod and it will automatically transfer (as long as the file in your library is checked).

  To Burn a CD
You must first create a playlist.  Click "File", "New Playlist" and enter a new playlist name. Now drag your downloaded file to the new playlist. Now click your playlist in the left hand pane and then click the burn icon in the right hand corner.

Once you have downloaded a file to your PC, you can always take further actions (playing again, burning a CD, transferring to an mp3 player) without having to download again.
These instructions are as accurate as we know of.  Other third party software may cause extra steps that you will need to resolve yourself. Any fish may contain a bone...
