What to Expect - Grade School
All Stars is our Grade School Ministry for children in
grades 1 – 6. All Stars meets during the 9:00 service in the B-Quad
rooms. All children must be signed-in and
picked-up by a parent. Download map.
We desire for All Star kids to learn that they
can carry the light-giving Good News into our dark world and that
they can shine like (ALL) STARS for God!
We
intentionally live out our ministry mission each weekend in All
Stars. Our ministry revolves around a large group ~ small group
format.
First, children are
taught Bible truths creatively in our large group All Stars Theatre.
Kids today are submerged in a fast-paced culture that’s inundated
with technology. And kids respond to creativity and variety; they
want media, action, change, silence, drama, attention-grabbing
object lessons – and they want it all now! Our objective in our All
Stars Theatre time is to laser focus our teaching to create the most
phenomenal lesson possible each week. We strive to creatively
present truth in a big way that brings the Bible to life for kids.
We want something new and amazingly big each week that keeps kids
coming back.
By intentionally
putting our teaching time in large group, we ensure that all kids
receive the same consistent message – which doesn’t always happen in
a traditional classroom setting. It would be impossible for each
Sunday school teacher to invest the time and resources necessary to
pull off All Stars Theatre each week.
Next each child is
part of a small group “team”. Our Team Time setting gives
kids what they long for – community and connection. Team Time is a
safe place for kids to share what they’ve learned, to grow in their
relationship with God and others, and to give and receive love. This
time is designed for kids to experience a sense of belonging that’s
often a void in our culture today. Our teams give kids a safe and
comfortable group of people with whom they can process the Bible
story, share personal joys and struggles and form friendships.
Even the most creative
teaching needs to move from kids’ ears and eyes into their hearts.
Kids aren’t always sure what they’re supposed to do with what
they’ve heard – so actual learning or life-change doesn’t occur.
Being in relationship with a caring leader and friends helps
children connect what they’ve learned to their lives in a real and
relevant way. We believe that the combination of these three
environments is what will make All Stars effective in reaching
our kids and their friends for Jesus Christ, and giving them a faith
that sticks. Our prayer is that this ministry will create kids who
are dragging their parents to church because they don’t want to miss
a week!
If you child hasn’t
checked us out yet – we hope you will soon!
