DEACONS
Deacon Phone: (425) 984-4081,
email
Our
mission as identified in the Bible is to honor the Lord Jesus
Christ by ministering in a servant’s role with a servant’s
heart, first to the Body of Christ, then to those in our
neighboring communities and ultimately to the world at large...
to humbly serve the Lord, our Pastor/Elders, staff and congregation
through prayer, visitation, spiritual counsel, administration of ordinances
and charitable deeds; being visual representatives of the presence of
Christ within the organization of the church.
Some
practical applications of this “Servant” capacity can be
found in the following ministries:
- Assist
the Pastor in the Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s
Supper
- Administer
a Deacons “Benevolence” fund to aid first - members of
our body of believers and second - to reach out in caring
aid to prospective members
- Provide
physical help when possible to our members via a Deacon program titled
Helping Hands as well as the Food Room
- Maintain
contact with Senior Widows of our body
- Give
spiritual counsel to those needing such counsel
- Be
consistent in prayer support for our Pastor/Elders, church and one
another including a dedicated prayer time during all worship services

Over Benevolence
Wife: Cheryl, Children: Diana
& StephanieI have served as a Deacon and
then as an Elder for a number of years. Now I am
returning as a Deacon to help meet needs in our church
family and our community. My passion is to serve others
to further the kingdom of God. Over the years Christ has
developed in me a real heart for children. Currently my
wife and I have the privilege and joy of teaching
preschoolers every Sunday morning. The children know that “Uncle Paul”
loves them and that Jesus loves them, too. |

Deacon Associates
The duties and qualifications of the office of deacon are
well defined in the bible and are not taken lightly. Deacon
Associates are individuals who have been identified as having
these qualifications and have been asked to serve in a “trial
mode” for one year to ensure this position is a good fit for
them, the deacons, and the church body. During this time they
assume all roles and responsibilities of the deacon body. This
one year period culminates with the associate being ordained by
the church as a deacon.

Wife: Kari, Children: Johanna, Benjamin, Timothy, &
LibbyI began serving as a CrossPointe deacon in
March 2009. It is my desire to live each day in faithful
obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ, singularly motivated
by His unfathomable love, which He demonstrated most
powerfully on the cross. I have a passion for music and
currently serve as a vocalist on the Creative Arts Team.
I also enjoy team teaching an adult Bible study group,
working with children and preschoolers, and ringing
bells in the handbell choir. Kari and I are
homeschooling our children and find this to be a
challenging yet rewarding adventure. |
